Richard Tuttle, Chairman
Richard Tuttle has more than 30 years' experience as CEO of technology and environmental private ventures in Canada and the United States.
He is the Chairman and CEO of Iron Lion Management, which specializes in private equity investment and management services for early-stage technology companies. He has served as CEO for: Datapulse Corporation (divested to Mitel Corporation in 1983); Mindflight Technology (taken public on the VSE in 1988); Caribou Systems Corporation (acquired by a CDNX listed company in 1998); and Northstar Mall.ca (Canada's first internet mall divested to a TSE listed company in 2000).
Tuttle's industry experience includes the Private Client Group of KBSH Capital Management, a Tier 1 national investment management firm headquartered in Toronto with $7 billion in assets under management.
Rob Barlow, CEO
An entrepreneurial leader by nature, Rob Barlow has been a key factor in facilitating the introduction of numerous significant, high profile new technologies in the Canadian telecommunications sector. From establishing and directing a high performance technology Program Management Office for a telecommunications industry leader, to designing business and technology processes and associated performance metrics, Barlow has 14 years of progressive senior experience in the IT, Wireless Internet Energy and Telecommunications sectors.
Barlow launched WireIE after leaving a strategic position as Director of Project Management at a large Canadian telecom, where he was accountable for the successful delivery of wireless and wire line solutions, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Consumer VoIP, IPTV and IP messaging. His extensive experience in the public utility sector includes ten years at Hydro One, where he worked in Operation and Maintenance of the Distribution and Transmission Grids within Northern and Central Ontario.
Barlow serves as a Project Manager mentor for Project Manager Institute (PMI)'s Southern Ontario Chapter and is broadly recognized for his leadership abilities. He was consecutively nominated as Career Bridge Mentor of The Year in 2005 and 2006.
Les Gower, CFO
Les Gower has more than 30 years' experience as a senior Finance and Administration executive. He has acted as President, General Manager, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer over the course of his career. He has also served on the Board of Directors of a wide range of private and public companies.
Gower operates a management consulting firm, CFO Services, that provides strategic and financial planning services to software, manufacturing and distribution companies. Most recently he has acted as Chief Administrative Officer at BPS, a developer of world-class governance, risk and compliance software for the financial services industry. Gower is a graduate of McMaster University and holds an MBA from the University of Western Ontario's Richard Ivey School of Business.
Scott Clark
Scott has amassed close to 30 years of investment experience. In his role of Managing Director at Covington Capital, Scott is responsible for assessing new business opportunities, negotiating and structuring transactions, and actively advising investee companies in their daily operations.
Prior to joining Covington, Scott was a Vice-President at Harrowston Inc. where he assisted in the formulation of a venture capital investment strategy to expand Harrowston beyond traditional buyouts. Scott was also a Vice-President at Working Ventures Canadian Fund Inc. for six years where he executed numerous venture investments transactions across Canada. Prior to Working Ventures, Scott held various positions at the Business Development Bank of Canada.
Glenn Bowman
Glenn M. Bowman is a partner with Capital Canada Limited. His responsibilities include investment banking, financial advisory work, and financial restructuring services. Bowman specializes in advising clients on acquisitions and divestitures – covering a broad array of industries from owner-managed businesses to multinational companies – private debt and equity financings, financial restructurings, business and securities valuations, and fairness opinions.
Bowman is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, a Chartered Business Valuator, and holds a Corporate Finance Qualification with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Bowman was a member of the Accounting Standards Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, which has the authority of setting new financial accounting and reporting standards.
James Voulakos
James Voulakos is a Senior Executive and Leadership Coach and Principal of Visionary Insights Inc. He is also a Professor of Management Studies in the Faculty of Business at George Brown College. Voulakos has over 20 years of corporate sales, marketing and management experience in various industries including telecommunication, recycling, and real estate development. He has held various corporate positions at TELUS, Clearnet, and Laidlaw, as well as being the co-founder of Omega Real Estate Development Inc.
Voulakos has a significant record of achievement coaching in the areas of strategic marketing, organizational change, transformational leadership, and sales management with leading private sector organizations.
